- Endoscopic Forehead Lift Surgery Process
Endoscopic forehead lift surgery is performed with incisions of 2 cm on the right and left side of the scalp. The operation which is carried out with an optic mini camera is followed on a monitor. The forehead is raised upwards and excess skin is removed. Dissolvable stitches are used. Scars are not visible since they are hidden under the hair. An operation can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia depending on the patient’s request. You should make your decision together with your doctor at your first examination.
- Who Can Undergo Endoscopic Forehead Lift Surgery?
Endoscopic forehead lift surgery can be applied to people having wrinkles on their forehead area and who have eligible health conditions. This forehead lift surgery cannot be applied to people;
- The forehead is very large
- The hairline is so regressed,
- The Forehead area is curved and protruded
Recovery Period
Classic forehead lift surgery takes about 2-3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Patients can be discharged 1 day after the operation because they must be followed for this period in terms of the anesthetic situation.
Patients can take shower on the second day of the operation. Swelling on the forehead can be kept under control by applying ice and holding the head back after forehead lift surgery. You should use the medicines and special creams that will be recommended to you regularly. In this way, the bruises that may occur on the forehead will be less.
The swelling starts to decrease 1-2 weeks after the operation. In the 2nd week, you can return to work if you do not have a heavy job. There will be numbness in the forehead, which improves in the following weeks.
You should stay away from intense physical activities such as sports, bending down, and heavy housework for a few weeks that increase blood pressure. It is very important to stay away from sunbathing, sauna and solarium.
During the recovery period after endoscopic forehead lift surgery, if the operation has been performed under general anesthesia, you should be followed up in the hospital for 1 night. Bandages are applied for 2-3 days. With this bandage, tissues are recovered and the skin can adapt to its new form more easily.
There is not much pain during the postoperative period. But painkillers are recommended anyway.
There may be edema, bruising, redness, and mild swelling around the eyes. Swelling and redness disappear within 7 days.
You must consume much water and restrict salt consumption in order to prevent edema and accelerate the recovery period.
What Are the Risks?
The risk is very low in forehead lift surgeries. There is no risk of infection. Since incisions are very small, there is no visible scar. However, it is very important to follow your doctor’s recommendations. If not, the recovery time of swelling, edema, and bruising will be longer and problems may occur in the stitches areas.
