Botox is one of the most commonly used medical aesthetic procedures for the removal of wrinkles and facial lines caused by the use of facial expressions. In addition to cosmetic purposes, Botox treatment can be used in the treatment of diseases such as excessive sweating and migraine, to restore muscle activity of paralyzed patients and to eliminate problems such as rectal cracks.
Botox procedure, which has a wide area of use and researches about which are still ongoing, is not permanent. Since the effect of Botox injection disappears after a while, it needs to be renewed at regular intervals. Botulinum toxin is injected under the skin of the application area in Type A Botox procedure. The effect of the injection may vary depending on some factors such as the skin structure of the person, the degree of wrinkles, the amount of dose used in the application and whether the application is made to the right points. For this reason, while the permanence of the Botox procedure is 4 months in some people, this period may extend up to 6 months in some people. The effect period of Botox should be considered as approximately 4-6 months and an appropriate treatment planning should be made for the individual. However, it should not be ignored that a longer-lasting effect can be obtained in the application area as a result of regularly repeated Botox injections.
Botox Ranks First Among the Most Reliable Medical Procedures
Many people feel dissatisfied with their appearance as a result of wrinkles that occur due to factors such as excessive use of facial expressions, aging or genetic factors. Thanks to the Botox applications applied to areas such as the eye area, forehead, between the eyebrows, and the root of the nose, all such complaints can be eliminated in a very fast and practical way. Botox applications, made by professionals who are experts in their fields, using appropriate doses, offer both men and women the opportunity to obtain a youthful and fit appearance.
Botox procedure is performed by injecting the toxin obtained from Clostridium botulinum bacteria into the application area. Thus, the release of substances that provide conduction in the nerve endings is prevented and the transmission between the nerves and related organs is stopped. As a result of the cessation of nerve conduction, the function of the organ reached by the nerve is reduced or completely lost. Botox can be used not only for aesthetic and cosmetic purposes, to reduce wrinkles due to the movements of facial mimic muscles, to prevent their formation and to eliminate excessive sweating, but also for medical purposes such as in the treatment of chronic migraine.
In the Botox procedure, the application area is first anesthetized with anesthetic cream. Then, using a fine-tipped injector, Botox injection is made at the dose determined for the person. The dose to be administered is determined by the doctor depending on the needs of the person and the application area, and the effect of the Botox injection becomes evident within approximately 24-72 hours after the application. The time required for the full effect to be seen is a maximum of 15 days.
Botox injection can be made into the mimic muscles or into the skin. At the end of 2-3 days following Botox injection, which is a painless procedure, partial loss of muscle function occurs. In order for this to reach the maximum level, 1-2 weeks should pass after the application. Although the effects of Botox are most clearly observed in the treatments of dynamic lines, the effect obtained may vary according to the application dose, area and physiological characteristics of the patient. Generally, the effect of Botox injection lasts for 4-6 months. As the muscles in the application area start to contract again, it is recommended to make a new Botox injection before the facial lines return to their original state. In cases where the desired loss of muscle function cannot be achieved, correction can be made 2 weeks after the Botox procedure.
Although temporary bruising, tenderness or swelling may occur on the skin of the patient after the application, this situation is not at a level that will prevent the person from participating in social life. Not wearing make-up for 12 hours after the application, avoiding direct sunlight for 2 weeks, avoiding hot environments such as sauna, Turkish bath, solarium, steam bath are important for the success of the result and the comfort of the person.
Since Botox injection is used with extremely fine-tipped injectors and is expected to act by applying anesthetic cream before the application, no pain or pain sensation occurs. Wrinkles do not get worse after the Botox procedure is stopped. In fact, it is possible to see fewer wrinkles in the area as a result of the application area being protected from mimic movements for a long time. However, since the muscles to which Botox is applied continuously will weaken over time, there may be a slight sagging or looseness in the related area.
In Botox application, if the application area is determined correctly and the dose to be applied is determined correctly, a natural appearance can be obtained and facial expression deterioration can be prevented. Therefore, a patient-specific evaluation should be made and the planning should be carried out accordingly. The application of the Botox procedure by experienced and experts in the field eliminates the possibility of negative situations and ensures that the result is more successful.
