Aesthetics in the female body is determined by factors such as breast tissue, volume, skin structure, breast angle, and the proportion of breast tissue and nipple. The breast has a feature that can be deformed by sagging due to various factors, or that atrophies and loses its volume. Ideal breast beauty is evaluated depending on breast volume, dimensions, size, and proportion of the nipple and breast tissue.
Frequent and excessive weight gain and loss, malnutrition, pregnancy, breastfeeding, genetic factors cause the breast tissue to sag and lose its aesthetic appearance. Breast lift aesthetics can be performed on average 4-6 months after the breastfeeding process ends. The breast lift operation aims to give the breast tissue an aesthetic appearance in terms of size, uprightness, and proportion. It is also possible to perform breast augmentation surgery simultaneously with breast lift surgery.
Healing Process After Breast Augmentation Aesthetics
After breast augmentation, patients are discharged the same day or after staying in the hospital overnight. In the hours after the operation, a small amount of pain may occur with the decrease of the effect of anesthesia. Likewise, a feeling of pressure and fullness can be experienced in the breast area. These are considered the body’s natural responses to the operation. The pain felt during this period, which lasts for about three days, can be controlled with painkillers prescribed by the doctor.
2-4 days after breast augmentation surgery, the dressings in the application area are opened. Since bruising and swelling can be seen at this stage, it should not be considered the final result. After the healing process is completed, the patient will be able to realize that the desired appearance has been achieved.
Patients can return to their work life and social activities from the 2nd week after breast augmentation surgery. It is possible for people working in an office environment to return to their work from the 5th day on average, depending on their profession. However, the patient should avoid hard movements and heavy work for 2 months following the operation.
In the weeks following the breast augmentation surgery, there may be a loss of sensation in the application area. This situation disappears within about 2 months. After breast augmentation surgery, it is necessary to wait for the wounds to heal and the edema to recover in the area, in order to make a comparison with the situation before the surgery. After the healing is completed and the operation area returns to its normal state, the new breast contour can be seen. Although the patients begin to notice the changes in their breasts gradually after the first week, the new breasts begin to settle at the end of approximately 4 weeks. After breast aesthetic surgery, it takes 4-6 months for the breasts to take their full form.
Things to Do After Breast Augmentation Surgery
Patients should take care to rest the day after breast augmentation surgery. From the 2nd and 3rd days, small daily activities can be started at home. After the operation, the medications given by the doctor should be taken regularly, the wound should be cared for as recommended by the doctor, and care should be taken to moisturize the operation area. After the scar on the skin heals, creams recommended by the doctor should be used for at least 3 months. In this way, it is possible to apply the most accurate care and obtain a perfect appearance.
It is normal to experience edema and swelling after breast augmentation surgery. Such situations are experienced after almost any type of operation and are considered a reaction of the body to the external intervention. The reason for this is that the area that is forced and compressed during the operation collects edema and causes visible swelling in the area.
Swelling that occurs after breast augmentation surgery begins to gradually decrease from the 3rd day. However, the edema does not immediately dissipate and go down. At this stage, massage applications can be used in line with the directions of the surgeon who performed the operation. Thus, the lymph channels are expanded with the massage and the removal of edema is accelerated. Under normal conditions, massage is started from the end of the first week following the surgery. With the approval of the doctor, massage is done regularly for about 3 months.
After breast augmentation surgery, the patient is directed to medical bras and sports bras that cover the breasts. The use of these bras for 8 weeks after the surgery is essential for a healthy and fast recovery process.
After the breast augmentation surgery, the patient can take a shower after removing the bandages. The doctor’s approval should be awaited for the bath. Before the wounds on the skin are fully healed and without the approval of the doctor, swimming in the pool or at sea should be avoided. Otherwise, undesirable situations such as infection may occur. Harmful and burning rays of the sun should be avoided after breast augmentation surgery, and a protective cream should be used while going out in the sun for 3 months after the operation.
Although there is no obstacle to doing sports after breast augmentation surgery, the doctor’s approval should be obtained by evaluating the nature of the sport to be done, its intensity, and how heavy it is. The patient can take long walks at the end of the first week. From the 2nd week onwards, brisk walking and jogging can be started. The most important point is to listen to the patient’s body and fully comply with the doctor’s recommendations. The patient should not force herself in this process and should act carefully. With the approval of the doctor, it is possible to switch to more active sports.
