Preventative Botox can be considered among the concepts that Botox, which is one of the most preferred medical procedures of recent times, has added to our lives. Preventive Botox has the feature of being one of the increasingly popular aesthetic applications because it protects the skin against aging. Preventive Botox is frequently preferred, especially among women in their 20s.
Botox treatment, which started to be applied at a young age, provides a great advantage in preventing wrinkles. Starting Botox injection in the 20s gives the opportunity to prevent wrinkles before they begin to form and to protect them smoothly without any deformation on the face. Botox treatment, which starts at the age of 30, can reduce wrinkles, as well as stop their progression and the formation of new wrinkles. However, it does not enable achieving the smoothness of the skin in the 20s.
Botox is one of the applications that provide different advantages to every age group. Although it varies from person to person, Botox applied in the 20s can provide the appearance of the 18s, and when it is applied in the 30s, it may be possible to achieve the appearance of the 20s; and when applied in the 40s, it may be possible to achieve the appearance of the 30s. However, the realism of the patient’s expectations is also very important in the Botox procedure.
Since it is a non-invasive, non-surgical and non-permanent procedure, it is considered an extremely simple and reliable application. Since a purified protein obtained from clostridium botulinum is injected in the Botox procedure, which provides highly effective results like the operations performed with surgical techniques, there are no side effects.
Preventive Botox is applied in minimal doses. This is because there is no sign of aging yet. A minimally dosed application is sufficient for the purpose of restricting the most commonly used facial movements that cause wrinkles. Thus, it is out of the question to cause dullness or loss of mimics on a face that is already keeping its tension.
What Kind of Relationship is There Between Botox and Age?
Botox is one of the first words that come to mind today when it comes to aesthetics. While the age of getting Botox was over 40 years old, today it is in great demand, especially after the age of 30. Botox is a procedure that focuses on reducing the functions of facial expression muscles and preventing the deepening of expression lines. This process is also effective in reviving the gaze and slightly lifting the eyebrows. The areas where Botox is mostly applied are the forehead, over the nose, on the lips, around the eyebrows and around the eyes, and it can also be applied around the mouth and neck, if needed.
The effect of Botox usually starts on the 3rd day after the injection and reaches its full effect level on the 7th day. Its effect fades away in 4-6 months. However, the effect of the application may be prolonged in people who regularly have Botox injections. Even the frown mimic between the eyebrows may disappear over time. Since the area around the eyes is the most resistant area, fewer doses are applied than between the eyebrows so that the laughing function of the person is not disturbed during the application.
Botox injection may be insufficient in opening the lines in people whose mimic lines are highly pronounced. In this case, filling or fat injection may be required together with Botox injection. For people with thin skin, prominent mimic lines can be opened over time with regular Botox injections.
Botox injection is not applied to everyone in the same area and at the same dose. Eyebrow structure, gender, cheek structure, skin structure and the wishes of the person are taken into account and the focus is given to achieving the most natural appearance. A well-done Botox injection helps the person to have a vigorous appearance. However, Botox is not only used for aesthetic purposes on the face. It is a very effective method used in patients who have difficulty opening their eyes due to excessive work of the eye muscles called blepharospasm. Botox can be used for treatment in reducing the frequency of migraine attacks, and in the complaints of clenching and grinding of the teeth.
What is Masseter Botox?
The masseter is a muscle on the side of the face that connects the cheekbone and lower jawbone, and is among the muscles that assist in chewing. Masseter Botox is performed with Botox injection into the masseter muscle. This medical procedure is also called chin Botox. As is the case with normal Botox applications, nerve signals are temporarily blocked in the masseter Botox procedure and the movement of the muscle is temporarily blocked by the injection of botulinum toxin.
Constant repetition of chewing or chewing hard things can cause the masseter muscle to enlarge. Stress-induced clenching, in other words Bruxism, can also cause enlargement of the jaw muscles. By weakening and reducing the masseter muscle, round and square face shapes can be thinned, the jaw muscles can be relaxed and the general tension on the face can be reduced. Likewise, it can be considered an ideal solution for stress and clenching problems, as it reduces the general tension on the face.
Masseter Botox, which is completed in about 10 minutes, is a painless procedure. Local anesthesia is applied to the patient and the dose determined according to the strength and volume of the muscle is injected. The effect appears in about 2 weeks and is known to last for an average of 6 months. Hard foods should not be chewed for 24 hours after the application, liquid foods should be consumed. Likewise, environments such as Turkish bath and sauna should be avoided, and care should be taken not to have skin care during the week following the injection.
