Although deep lines and wrinkles on the face occur due to many different factors, it can be said that the most important factors are aging, intense use of mimics, and genetic factors. Regardless of the reason, the wrinkles that occur are initially superficial, but over time they become deeper and more pronounced. When Botox is applied for the purpose of wrinkle treatment, wrinkles are removed and the formation of new ones is delayed, giving the face a more lively and youthful appearance.
Among the areas with the best results from Botox injection are the upper parts of the face, including between the eyebrows, forehead, and around the eyes. Good results can be obtained from Botox injections in the lower parts of the face and neck. The effect of Botox injection peaks 7-10 days after the treatment and starts to decrease after an average of 4-6 months. During this period, as the effect of the injected substance decreases, the facial muscles regain their mobility.
Botox can be used to remove forehead lines in the upper face area, raise low eyebrows, soften crow’s feet lines, remove lines on the edge of the nose, reduce frown lines, stretch the temples and stretch the eye lines.
Botox is applied to the masseter muscle, that is, the chewing muscle, in the mid-face area, and it is aimed to eliminate the stiffness and sharp appearance of the jaw joint, as well as to soften the jaw by reducing the width.
Nefertitilift is injected into the transverse and longitudinal chin contour, and to a few points on the chin edge to lift it, in order to recover the lower face oval and give clarity to the neck and chin edge.
In cases where the outer lip edges go down, it is aimed to remove the smile image and the lines between the nose and lip by pulling up with Botox.
How is Facial Botox Performed?
Before the facial Botox application, the face and the application area are examined in detail. The intervention is planned by evaluating the current situation, complaints and expectations of the patient. Using two- or three-dimensional simulations, the expected image to be obtained after the operation is presented to the patient.
There is no detailed preliminary preparation stage before facial Botox. If the patient has a high blood pressure problem, takes blood thinners, has skin or allergy problems, has had any surgery on the face, or has regular medication, they should inform the doctor.
In facial Botox, injections are made into the subcutaneous muscles using cannula or fine-tipped needles. The completion time of the procedure varies between 15-30 minutes depending on the application area. Since the application area is anesthetized using anesthetic gels and creams before the injection, pain is not felt during and after the procedure. Only a slight burning and tingling may be felt. It is possible to reduce this burning and tingling by applying a cold compress to the injection area with the approval of the doctor.
After the application, the patient can quickly return to their daily life. However, the first few heavy sports activities and strenuous activities such as sauna and extreme heat should be avoided. Care should be taken not to lie face down and not to rub the Botox injection area. The effect of facial Botox begins to appear in 2-3 days and the desired result is achieved in about 10 days.
Although the risk of side effects in Botox injection is extremely low, pain, redness, swelling, numbness, inflammation, bruising, bleeding, head and neck pain, and dry mouth can be seen in the injection area, although rarely. People with allergy problems may also experience problems such as itching, dizziness, weakness, and rash from time to time.
Is Botox Dangerous?
Since botulinum toxin is one of the most toxic substances in the world, it is possible to encounter undesirable situations such as respiratory failure and death as a result of any misapplication. Botulinum toxin is also a very effective protein and should be injected in very small doses. The most important point is that the Botox procedure must be applied by a specialist doctor who has experience in the field.
Injections applied to the muscles during the Botox procedure are usually very well tolerated and therefore, they are extremely unlikely to cause side effects. However, since some people may be hypersensitive to the active ingredient of the drug, there is a rare risk of side effects.
Botox is a procedure that must be performed by experts and experienced doctors in the field. Although some side effects may occur after Botox application, they usually disappear on their own in a short time. Since the effect period of Botox is about 6 months, patients should renew the Botox procedure at regular intervals. Repetition of Botox at certain intervals in cosmetic applications ensures that the results of the procedure are more permanent and that Botox is effective for a longer period of time.
Botox is an effective method that is frequently used for cosmetic purposes as well as for the elimination of excessive sweating. It is possible to prevent excessive sweating during the effect of Botox, depending on the blocking of the nerve impulse to the sweat glands with Botox injection, which is applied for the treatment of sweating on the soles of the feet, palms and armpits.
